Live Demo: Budapest
Budapest City Centre, Budapest
Max Verstappen is headed for Hungary on May 1st for our latest Live Demo event. As has become something of a tradition, we’re taking part in Nagy Futam, aka The Great Run, aka the Hungarian Labour Day jamboree that sees a street course in downtown Pest closed to traffic, as some of motorsport’s loudest let loose!
While the rest of the Race Team is heading home from Baku on Monday, for Max there’s a detour to Hungary where he will meet up with the Live Demo team and the RB8 for a showcar run through the streets of Budapest!
Over the year’s we’ve had David Coulthard, Dany Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo taking part. This year, it’s Max’s turn to spin the wheels and let the big, double world championship-winning, V8, RB8 roar through the centre of town with an eclectic selection of burnouts, donuts and speed runs. If you’re in Budapest – or even remotely near – it’s the place to be.
That sounds right up my street. When's it happening and where?
On Tuesday May 1st 2018 from 1000 to 1300 on the streets of Budapest, and 1400 to 1600 over the Danube river.
Sounds great. Who's in?
Well, we’d like to think Max is the big draw – but there’s a wealth of other motor racing talent on show too: with stars of Autocross, Rallycross and truck racing taking to the streets, among others. There will be classic cars. Gerhard Berger and Chase Carey will be there, Rene Rast and Timo Glock will be representing DTM, and Peter Besenyei will be flying under the Chain Bridge, while the Flying Bulls do their thing above.
Sounds brilliant. Anything else I need to know?
It is brilliant – and it doesn’t cost a bean. If you like cars, planes or just having a day out in a great city on a public holiday. Budapest is definitely the place to be on Tuesday. But be warned: the crowd is massive. If you want a good view of Max, arrive early.
I can't make it to Budapest. How can I still be part of the action?
We'll keep you updated with photos, videos and more coverage accross our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram channels as well as right here on the website.
