An update from free practice at the Baku City Circuit as the Bulls get up and running in the East ahead of Sunday’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Daniel was the first Bull to hit the streets of Baku in Free Practice completing an initial install lap with Max soon to follow.
The early running was positive for the Bulls with Max going quickest before Daniel went one better moments later with a 1:45.369. The session was then yellow flagged as Max, still pushing, slid into the wall at turn five. The virtual safety car was deployed as his car was cleared from the track.
As the high speed runs resumed Daniel and those around him improved their times with Bottas claiming top spot at the end of the session with a 1:44.242.
Daniel ultimately completed 24 laps with a best time of 1:44.277 which was good enough for P2 while Max managed 11 laps before his session came to a halt with a best time of 1:44.559 for P6.
Once again it was Daniel who hit the street circuit first in Free Practice Two while Max’s crew continued to work on repairing the Dutchman’s car.
The Honey Badger set the early pace once again with a 1:43.947 while the crew on the other side of the garage showed a different kind of speed to get Max out with just over an hour remaining in FP2.
Daniel continued to show good speed and car control around the streets of Baku completing 35 laps, finishing the day on top of the time sheet with a 1:42.795. Meanwhile, Max completed 27 laps with a best time of 1:42.911 to finish in P3.
Free Practice Three saw Max take P4 with a 1:43.519 while Daniel took P12 with a 1:44.861.
