Fresh from blazing around the streets of Budapest – our Live Demo Team will be at it again, this Friday as David Coulthard brings a first taste of F1 to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Formula One has spent the last 20 years building its presence in South East Asia and Vietnam is now the focus of considerable attention – so this really is the perfect time to unleash the Live Demo team on the city streets.

DC and the mighty, RB7 are headlining Heineken’s Perfect Experience with F1 festival, which will also feature EDM superstar DJ Martin Garrix and a host of local acts. On a street course laid out along Nguyễn Cơ Thạch Street in District 2, David will put the double championship-winning V8 through its paces with three runs and a deafening display of burnouts, donuts and speed runs. With a massive crowd predicted, many of whom have never seen an F1 car live, it’s sure to be memorable.

“It’s always hugely exciting to drive the RB7 in front of a live audience – but going to Vietnam is sure to be an exceptional experience,” says David. “It’s actually my first time in the car this year – but I’m pretty sure I’ll remember what to do!”

The event will be completely free to attend and will begin at 1700, with David on track shortly after. He’ll conclude the driving part of the event at 1830, though has promised to appear on stage later on in the evening, when the musical component will take over. Martin Garrix is the centrepiece of the evening performances – though we’re intrigued by something billed as the ‘Fire Drum Dance’.

“It’s my first time in the country so I’m incredibly curious about what I’m going to find,” adds David. “It’s one of the nicest things about driving for the Red Bull Racing Live Demo Team: there’s always something a little bit out of the ordinary; and always new places to go, experiences to have and people to meet.”
