Restless explorers that they are, our show car team are always looking to new horizons. But while they’re always searching for new audiences to connect to F1, they’re also determined to keep old converts in touch with the power and glory of grand prix racing.

The last time we rocked the home of the Little Mermaid was all the way back in 2012, when David Coulthard powered past some of the city’s major landmarks. But with the event taking place on the same weekend as the Canadian GP and with DC on duty in Montreal, this time we brought Red Bull Junior Driver Dan Ticktum to rip up the streets of the City of Spires on his first city-based show run.

And the Super Formula driver didn’t disappoint. On a specially laid out track running along the Øster Allé, and past the Telia Parken football stadium, Dan pushed the double title-winning Red Bull Racing RB8 as hard as possible, delivering a sequence of earth-shaking, full-power blasts before using the donut rings at either end of the course to the tyre-smoking limit.

Dan was joined on the track by Ukrainian Drifting superstar Aleksandr ‘Grinya’ Grinchuk and double world champion Stunt Rider and local motorcycle hero Mike Jensen, with both Red Bull athletes putting in breathtaking shows of skill and balance.

“It was absolutely amazing,” smiled Dan afterwards. “It was my first proper show run and I think it went really, really well – though maybe you’d need to ask the crowd! But I think we gave them a good show. We’ve seen 20,000 people come out to see us today and it’s just been quite an incredible event.

“Show runs like this are brilliant because a lot of countries don’t get to see Formula 1 live, and bringing the Team’s cars to cities around the world gives people a real taste of what the sport is all about. It’s been a fabulous day, especially for me. I can’t wait to do it all again in another city as wonderful as Copenhagen.”
