Filling the F1 Festive Void

It’s still not the holidays and it’s still not the new season. It’s grey outside, the winter germs are everywhere and we can’t even build a snowman pit crew here in MK because we haven’t got any snow. Still, we’re focusing on the positives: mince pies, mince pies and even more mince pies!

Here’s five festive ideas to fill that pesky F1 void over the holidays.

Plum Pudding Races

If festive telly isn’t delivering enough adrenaline, get off the sofa and head over to the 44th annual Plum Pudding Races at Mallory Park in Leics. This Boxing Day race meeting features two, three and four wheels and offers a diverse mix of makes and models, making it a fun and frosty day out for the whole family. Find out more here.

Running away from the mince pies

Running? During the holidays? As it happens, we’ve got a lot of runners in the Team and it turns out that there are festive-themed events to keep them happy. Join in or get ahead with your Wings for Life World Run training at the Burnley Christmas Cracker, the Aylesbury Boxing Day 5km, the Box Hill Knacker Cracker or one of many other merry runs. Check out this handy guide.

Practise your skills in the F1 game

There’s always racing on the telly box if you’ve got F1 2018. The off-season is the perfect time to practise your skills in the comfort of your own home and find out which tracks are a true test of your mettle. Here’s Max virtually rocking a lap of Silverstone to get you started. Watch it here.

Swap the wheels for sticks and balls

Our Red Bull football and hockey family are hard at work over the festive period, bringing the sporting action to pitches and rinks. If you’re new to RB Leipzig, FC Red Bull Salzburg, EC Red Bull Salzburg and EHC Red Bull München, now’s a great time to check them out and see them in action during the snowy season.

Have a home race

Fancy an impromptu post-lunch race? Break out your Minichamps RB14s, use your kid sister’s Lego for scenery and for bonus sound effects, replay your saved grand prix at top volume while you race your models around your living room carpet circuit. Whack it on the net for extra bragging rights. For hints and tips, check out our mini track guides.

You can also: read How To Build A Car, see 2018’s highlights over at, catch up on films and episodes you’ve missed at Red Bull TV, grab a DVD or Blu-ray from the Red Bull Media House film collection at, watch Rush or Senna, watch all the race replays, rewatch everything on or watch all of the Team’s 2018 memories and events on our website and social channels. That should be enough to get you through! (If that still doesn’t cut it, build a snow RB14, get in it and make the appropriate car noises until January.)

However you fill the F1 void over the festive season, we hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends. See you in the new year!
