FRENCH CONNECTION

After a historic day at the Circuit Paul Ricard, we turned it up to 11 as the sun set, at the F1 Live event in nearby Marseilles.

Running along the waterfront on the Quai du Port, David Coulthard gave the double-championship winning RB7 V8 the full measure, with a truly magnificent sequence of donuts that had the exhausts glowing white and the crew slightly worried. An impressive crowd gathered to cheer on DC and the other runners in the demonstration, before partying the night away.

“It’s fantastic to have this race back on the calendar and it’s been really nice to come here to entertain the fans,” said David, winner of the French Grand Prix in 2000. “The event this evening has been terrific: it’s a great way to promote Formula One and support the French Grand Prix.”

After the event, the Live Demo team packed down and headed back to base and our attention returns to the top of the plateau for Saturday’s qualifying battle.
