Hot here, hot there…

While the race team are busy preparing for the Malaysian Grand Prix it’s worth remembering that there’s more to The Team than just the crew at the track...

...in fact this weekend we're not the only ones between a car and a hot place.* While we're sweating at Sepang our Live Demo Team and Carlos Sainz Jr have been giving the RB7 another canter, this time around the fabulous Kuwait Towers in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

Carlos got the crowd of 20,000 jumping with a tyre-smoking repertoire of donuts, burn-out and speed runs around the famous landmark.

"Today has been a great day, I really enjoyed my time," said a beaming Carlos, who this year will be contesting the World Series by Renault FR3.5 Championship for the DAMS team in the seat vacated by the F1-bound Kevin Magnussen. "Every single run was special. We made the engine roar and burned some rubber which made fans extremely happy. Thank you Kuwait for this great experience and I hope to come back one day."

As with all the Live Demo team's street runs, the event was entirely free to attend and also included entertainment from Abdo Feghali, the Middle East Hill Climb champion and holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest drift, who pulled out all the stops drifting his Nissan 370Z in ways that frankly defy explanation. And for those who prefer two wheels, four-time World Stunt Riding Champion Chris Pfeiffer deployed his full range of tricks.

We'll be off on our own Middle East adventure next weekend as we go to the Gulf for the Bahrain Grand Prix – though by then the Live Demo team will have laid rubber and headed out for who knows where...

*Sepang is tougher, the Live Demo boys get to work in a dry heat...
