Vehicle Dynamics

The position is targeted towards Mechanical, Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering students. Candidates will require good mathematical and analytical skills and an engineering background. Knowledge of vehicle dynamic principles and experience with Matlab would also be advantageous.

The successful candidate will develop skills in problem solving, creativity, teamwork, planning, innovation and communication whilst performing the following tasks:

  • Validate models against track data
  • Provide predictive performance analysis
  • Support data analysis of race and test events
  • Develop automated routines and processes for data analysis and metrics generation
  • Develop design-of-experiments using existing toolsets
  • Provide real-time event support

The placements will be for 1 year, starting in Summer 2019.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a mix of skills across IT and Engineering to help to drive the continuous improvement of the tools and processes that underpin our efforts to produce a Championship winning Formula One Race Car.

The CAD/PLM Support engineer will be responsible for:-

  • Supporting the use and development of our core Design and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • On-going development and maintenance of the NX CAD system as well as the integration to the Teamcenter PLM system
  • System configuration, including standard templates, and custom utilities.

This role will provide interactive at-elbow technical support and mentoring across our Design, and Manufacturing groups, focusing on the use of Teamcenter and NX CAD and applications. They will assist engineers with design-based, geometric modelling challenges, data management issues and general PLM System issues, and work closely with business unit stakeholders to identify opportunities and deploy solutions to provide more efficient automated solutions to current workflows through the use of NX Open tools.

Ideally you will be Degree qualified in an Electronics discipline, combined with the relevant experience of Motorsport Electronics.  

The following additional competencies are also a pre requisite for this role:

  • A high level understanding of Electrical and Electronic systems used within the Motorsport, Aerospace or Automotive industries. 
  • You will be experienced in producing robust design solutions for small batch, prototype, Analogue and Digital circuits and have experience of working as part of a small multi skilled engineering group.
  • You will be competent in producing Technical documentation and specifications.
  • You will have a good knowledge of sensor technologies.
  • You will be process driven with a tremendous level of self-motivation and initiative, and are an excellent communicator both verbal and written.

The role involves working on a wide variety of projects within our Electronics Design function and alongside our team of Engineers. You will be responsible for the specification, design, test and calibration of our Electrical and Electronic components and their associated equipment, allowing us to meet the requirements of our Engineering function. You will work on our on and off car systems, test rigs and equipment as well as producing the required documentation and procedures to suit. You will be required to carry out fault investigation and resolution of allocated issues. You will be working with various disciplines across RBR and RBT.

We are looking for an Inspector to join our NDT Group.

This role involves the detailed inspection of complex and critical race car components and assemblies to the highest standards using various inspection methods, recording and reporting results in accordance with our procedures.

The applicant will have extensive proven NDT experience and ideally possess level 2 qualifications in Ultrasonics, Magnetic Particle, Penetrants and Eddy Current. You will also be able to demonstrate skills in the use of inspection measuring equipment.

Applicants interested in applying will ideally be apprentice trained, hold an ONC/HNC qualification or equivalent and have experience and knowledge within a Manufacturing/Inspection environment. You will be a self-motivator with a proactive approach and a flexible attitude to shift patterns. In addition, you will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to very tight deadlines, often with minimum supervision and have the ability to deal with challenging situations and delivery pressures.

This role is based at Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, and you may be required to travel to race and test events.

We are currently seeking an Electronics Test and Inspection Technician to join the Electronics Department.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Test, Inspection and documentation of the wide range of sensors, electronic components, assemblies and looms used on our F1 car and support equipment. You will also be required to maintain and operate our full range of test and inspection equipment including specialist rig equipment.  You will contribute to the design and development of future test and inspection techniques and equipment.

The ideal candidate should have

  • Some experience working in either the motorsports industry at a suitably high level or the aviation industry in a similar capacity (Licenced Technician / Technician)
  • A thorough basic understanding of electrical fundamentals and sensor theory and technology.
  • Be computer literate with normal Microsoft office applications such as word/excel etc. and also be able to quickly learn and adapt to using the bespoke applications used within RBT.

Good communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to learn and adapt quickly are prerequisite for the role. The ability to work well as part of a team is an essential skill within Red Bull Technology.

This is a key role where you will be integral to the future development of all HR related systems, contributing to the generation and management of the HR system roadmap, focusing on how systems can bring continuous process improvements and then delivering these changes. 

Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders you will manage Workday HCM functionality to meet the needs of both the HR team and the wider business including the biannual Workday release cycle and any implementation and roll out of new Workday modules. Attending external customer and user forums to gain insight and optimise Workday use within the business will also be part of this role

You will work with the HR team and key business stakeholders to develop new reporting suites and ensure real time information is available to support business requirements and to monitor key business metrics such as headcount. In addition you will provide HRIS support for recurring and annual HR initiatives such as, performance management and annual compensation planning.

Responsible for all system administration activities, including troubleshooting, system maintenance, system testing, managing user access, documentation of bespoke configurations and regular QA and Data audit processes. You will also provide training to both the HR team and wider business to increase knowledge, effectiveness and ability to use HR systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential along with a strong sense of self motivation and a focus on delivering results.
