We have a new opportunity for a Machine Shop Days Charge Hand to join our busy Manufacturing Department.

Based within our Machine Shop, the role is to work with the Machine Shop Group Leader to provide supervisory support to the Machinists. The role will also involve working with other departments and shifts to determine relevant manufacturing priorities and deadlines.

Applicants will have experience of operating, setting and programming 4 or 5 axis mills with Heidenhain control, or CNC Lathes with Siemens control. Experience of programming UGNX would also be a distinct advantage.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings as we produce a variety of complex machined components to aircraft standards in a range of materials, including titanium magnesium and carbon fibre. Additionally the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and commitment and be able to work within a high-pressure environment to meet tight deadlines. Proven Management experience, good communication and organisational skills are an essential requirement for this position.

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of our highly skilled Aerodynamics team, focusing on the development of our multi-championship winning Formula One cars. Our open, dynamic environment ensures that everyone can make a valuable contribution to increasing our F1 car’s performance and we are looking for experienced Aerodynamics Engineers to join us and ensure our future success on the race track.

Working from our Milton Keynes factory you will be involved in the complete development cycle from initial concepts through to deployment on the race car. This will include the design of components, being responsible for wind tunnel and CFD programmes, analysing aerodynamic performance data and contributing to the development of tools and methods.  As a senior member within a development group you will also be required to act as a mentor to others within the group, guiding development on various projects while also managing your own work load.

To fulfil these positions you will need:

  • A minimum of an Engineering Degree with a specialisation in Aerodynamics
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in a relevant field, preferably Formula 1
  • Detailed knowledge of aerodynamic principles, wind tunnel testing and CFD techniques
  • A good understanding of data analysis tools and techniques and other multi-disciplinary engineering skills including CAD and vehicle dynamics
  • An organised and methodical approach to work

We currently have an opportunity for a Junior Software Test Engineer, this is an exciting role that will be involved in the software testing of a wide range of applications developed within an F1 Racing Team.  

The main accountabilities for the role are:

  • Execution of regression tests
  • Drafting and updating of procedures and test cases
  • Support the implementation of automatic test tools
  • Deployment of software applications trackside and monitor these applications during events when required
  • Support the handling of licences and routine software installations
  • Setup of scenarios for investigations
  • Support out of hours activities before and during events

The majority of the tasks listed above are currently related to off-car software (car configuration and setup, telemetry and pitwall applications), but a good understanding of race strategies and car performance issues are required to investigate problems and analyse results.

Essential skills are:

  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Very good personal skills
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to write precise and accurate technical reports

Highly desirable skills are:

  • Familiarity with telemetry systems
  • Familiarity with Matlab and C#
  • Understanding of race strategies
  • Understanding of Vehicle Dynamics concepts
  • Working experience within Motorsport or Automotive Industry

The ideal candidate should have a Motorsport or Automotive Engineering degree and previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.

Candidates must also be able to be self-motivated and display a flexible approach to work patterns and enjoy the challenge of working effectively and to tight timescales.
